Are there any property providers or managing agents that have impressed you with the service that they deliver? If so, what have they done that has impressed you?

Occupiers single out a number of property suppliers and managing agents for praise; they are particularly impressed with good communication, efficiency, flexibility and proactivity

Property suppliers and managing agents are singled out for praise ‘We have very good symbiotic relationship with Land Securities. They helped with the reorganisation of our London portfolio, and are good on sustainability.’

‘I find British Land customer-conscious and eager to settle quickly. Since their merger with Pillar, their customer service has improved immensely.’

‘DTZ's property occupier group is really excellent. They are professional and an open book. They are what you would expect a managing agent to be.’

‘Jones Lang LaSalle is extremely good and professional and I would definitely recommend them because of their level of expert knowledge and professionalism.’
Occupiers appreciate good communication and efficiency ‘We recently acquired a building in Leeds and built up a really good relationship with King Sturge who were acting on behalf of the property owners. They had a good desire to understand the tenants' requirements and communication was good.’

‘An agent in the north has been phenomenally co-operative. We have never had to chase them up or been given wrong details.’

‘Recently, there was an explosion in a building which was right next door to one of our properties and the landlord completely took over, and sorted the whole thing out, quickly and efficiently.’
Occupiers comment on the importance of being treated as a customer ‘They keep in contact regularly, we are not forgotten after the deal has been done. We are treated as a customer and have a real relationship with them. It is cultural within their company.’

‘The agents are trying to tailor their searches to our needs, and are trying to get landlords to understand our needs.’
A flexible approach is appreciated ‘They have been very flexible about agreeing to monthly rentals.’

‘Stoford have been excellent. They were short listed for Entrepreneur of the Year by Property Week at the end of last year and showed innovation, flexibility and a real interest in playing alongside us in developing our new office building.’

‘We have a good relationship with SEGRO, both here and in Europe. They are willing to be more flexible, and engage with us on sustainability issues.’
Proactivity is valued by occupiers ‘The landlord of the people next door to us has a different attitude to our landlord. He has been excellent. Our neighbours had a horrible tenant above them and their landlord cleared those people out, improved the building and now the neighbour’s business is thriving. The landlord has a secure rent and they are both winners. Why don't more landlords do this?’

‘We have some good agents in regional locations. They have worked in the market for a number of years and know what they are doing. They have remained consistently good in bringing new opportunities. They are very proactive and they don't charge fees unnecessarily.’
